Testing Times In May!!!

All the latest news from the past Three mid season tests

The croft test which took place in mixed but dry conditions, Proved to be a braking moment in more ways than one for the young essex lad. In the morning Michael Topped the time sheets with just under thirty minutes to go in the morning session. The lap proved to be enough to hold P1 until the end of the morning. For the conclusion of the days testing things seemed to turn down for Mick despite him staying at the right end of the time sheets for most of the the afternoon Mick was take out by another driver who was exiting the pits with just 40 minutes to go which left Mick with no chance at a new tyre run when the track was in its prime and putting a premature end to what was seemingly a turning point in the season.

Upon refection of the day Mick had this to say, "I think today was a great day for us, I have shown good pace in the previous races and my sectors have been up there but this is the first time its all come together. What happened in the afternoon was really unfortunate but there was nothing I could do so I'm keeping my head up and looking forward to the forth coming tests and races!"

Silverstone proved an exciting prospect for Michael who was really looking forward to getting to run on the new Grand Prix circuit before the F1 guys have even got a look in. The test was split into sessions and it took time for Mick to adapt to the new bits of the of the circuit but as the day drew to a close and despite being blocked on his best lap loosing 4tenths he still made it safely into the top ten overall for the day.

The last of the offical tests took place at Snetterton where we started at a bit of a disadvantage due to not having good tyres to run on during the day due to loosing a set of tyres as a result of the some mistakes at silverstone. this made the jump to new tyres more difficult as a result and mick finished 12th. Despite this end result Michael has made some good steady progress and should be in really good shape for the up and coming race weekend at Oulton Park!
