In qualifying I was able to make good use of the new tyres getting a lap together on only my third flying lap in a time of 1:43:667 which gave me pole position by 0.400 of a second ahead of the faster ‘ground effect’ cars. This set me up well for the race as these later cars had to start at the back of the grid and this meant I had the front row all to myself for the Rolling start.

This proved to be a big advantage as it enabling me to lead a lights to flag victory despite not having a pace car to dictate the start. In the early laps I charged to get a good lead which despite some gear linkage issues I was able to stretch to 12.8 seconds by the end of the race.

In race two having won the first race I had the advantage of starting from pole, however this time with someone alongside me. With two of the other front runners throwing new tires at their cars I knew that this race was going to be a bit more of a challenge. With this in mind I pushed hard making a good start and was able to maintain the lead thought the first turn, from there I pushed hard to get a 5 second gap which remained constant for a fair few laps where we matched each other lap for lap then as I pulled onto the hanger straight, the engine note changed. Then a few corners later at abbey I saw one the exhaust head pipes had broken off. From this point on I knew I would have to push hard in order not to be caught by the chasing pack so I got my head down and eventually eked out the gap to a margin of 25.2 seconds when I crossed the finish line.
